Scrafano Architects creates spaces that are innovative and authentic. The practice brings creativity, informed problem solving, and decades of experience to every project. A collaborative process leads to the construction of unique spaces appropriate to the specific needs, taste, and budget of each client.

Working directly with each client, Scrafano Architects helps to explore inventive design options and solutions. Through collaboration, communication, and extensive experience across residential, retail, and commercial properties, the practice has completed more than 400 projects of all sizes and scales, working from offices in Chicago and Los Angeles.

Founded in 1997 by Elissa Scrafano, AIA, a registered architect in California, Illinois, and Michigan, with projects across the United States as well as in Vancouver, Canada and Virgin Gorda. Before establishing the firm, Elissa worked at the offices of Frank O. Gehry and Associates, Eric Owen Moss Architects, Narduli Grinstein Architects, and Landworth Debolske Architects. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan and SCI-Arc, where she serves on the alumni board.
