Description

Tan Architecture is a small Melbourne practice dedicated to quality outcomes, with a focus on residential architecture and refurbishment. The studio excels at finding simple and understated solutions to any design brief.

Its size is its advantage. Every project is directly managed by the Principal, so every client gets top-level advice and expertise, and integrity and reliability sit at the core of the operation. The team is practical, pays close attention to budgets, and understands construction, aiming for buildings that are functional and unobtrusive while providing wonderful spaces to live, work, and play in.

Principal Jos Tan has practised architecture since graduating with Dean's Honours from the University of Melbourne in 2002. He founded Jos Tan Architects in 2012, following a decade designing, documenting, and managing projects at Lovell Chen, David Lancashire Design, Streames and Associates, and Six Degrees Architects. The practice was renamed Tan Architecture in 2022. Jos is a Registered Architect with the Architects Registration Board of Victoria, with deemed registration in New South Wales, and a Certified Passive House Designer.
