Recruitment & Setup Costs

How this calculator works:

  • Permanent/FTC: Includes employer NI (15%), pension (3%), and holiday pay. Agency fees are pro-rated for FTC.
  • Direct Contractor: Typically Ltd company contractors invoicing you directly. Day rate only, no additional employer costs.
  • Agency Contractor: Could be umbrella or Ltd company via agency. Includes ~20% agency markup on day rate.

AWR 2010 Compliance: After 12 weeks, agency workers and contractors may be entitled to the same pay and conditions as permanent employees under the Agency Workers Regulations. This can significantly impact costs for contracts longer than 3 months.
