Fathom designs beautiful, logical buildings with a focus on complex briefs and sensitive sites.
Depth is at the core of what we do: depth of research, of thinking, depth of curiosity, understanding and collaboration. We listen closely and analytically. We interrogate the brief, finding the physical and cultural essence of each site to unlock its potential. We know that the first idea is rarely the best idea.
With our collective experience of high profile projects in sensitive locations, we create considered designs with commercial and contextual sensibility. Our approach prioritises process over house style, to create architecture that is appropriate for people and place.
At our studio we encourage flexible working practices where it positively impacts the team and your work. The team currently works from our studio on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, working remotely on Tuesday and Thursday.
We arrange regular activities around learning and development, helping our team stay inspired in their work.
Fathom is a young, collaborative practice based in Bermondsey. We foster an inclusive and supportive environment where everyone can thrive, and host regular events to learn, grow and be inspired together. We value the importance of teamwork and sharing ideas.
As a studio actively involved in education and accessibility in architecture, we strongly encourage applications from diverse ethnic backgrounds, the LGBTQ+ community and people living with disabilities. Our workspace is fully accessible.
We believe if you want the best results, work with the best people – this approach has shaped our entire practice.
Fathom is a collective of specialists who love working together, a network of leading minds – working across interior design, laboratory planning, heritage and digital environments – centred around a core team of creative architects and our clients.
