Description

Gillespies is a landscape architecture, urban design and masterplanning practice working across the UK and internationally. Founded in 1962, the practice has grown to a team of more than 140 people who work closely with clients and partners to deliver responsibly designed, award-winning spaces focused on wellbeing and a sense of place.

The work spans the full range of scales, from a community park or rooftop garden through to city-wide masterplans. Services cover landscape architecture, urban design, masterplanning and landscape planning, including LVIA, EIA, DCO and expert witness work, alongside wayfinding and signage. Sector experience includes residential, retail and mixed-use, hotels, resorts and tourism, business and science parks, leisure and visitor attractions, energy and utilities, sports, healthcare, education, and transport and infrastructure.

The team brings together landscape architects, planners, masterplanners, urban designers, and BIM and GIS specialists, working in an interdisciplinary way to deliver high-quality strategies for complex projects worldwide. Gillespies' design philosophy is built on four guiding pillars: Living Legacy, Human Element, Natural Networks, and Places are Personal. The emphasis throughout is on understanding the context, culture and people each project serves.

For Gillespies, the real measure of success is that a place becomes well used and well loved, and stands the test of time. These principles, in use since 1962, have made the practice one of the most established names in its field. The practice holds professional memberships with the Landscape Institute, the Urban Design Group, the Academy of Urbanism and IEMA.
