Alejandro Gatica is Principal BIM Manager at Gillespies, where he leads the implementation, coordination and delivery of BIM for landscape architecture across the practice's Manchester and Leeds studios. A qualified Part II architect from Chile, he has spent more than eight years applying Revit to landscape and public realm projects, helping landscape architects adopt digital workflows originally built for buildings.
He holds a master's degree in BIM platforms and methodologies from Universidad Pablo de Olavide in Seville and is a certified Autodesk Revit Professional in Architectural Design, with advanced skills in Dynamo and Grasshopper for parametric modelling and automation. Before joining Gillespies in 2021 he spent three years with a landscape studio in Dubai, delivering coordinated BIM models for large scale developments in the Middle East.
His project experience includes the rooftop landscape at Google's headquarters in King's Cross, a new grassland habitat and overnight accommodation at Chester Zoo, and the elevated viaduct park above Stockport Interchange.
