MJP Architects is an architectural practice established in 1972 and based in Spitalfields, London. The practice changed its name from MacCormac Jamieson Prichard in June 2008 and has been owned by an Employee Benefit Trust since October 2007. We specialise in projects on sensitive sites involving delicate planning negotiations and high quality design to achieve consent. Our buildings do not have a recognisable style ‘signature’, although they share spatial, formal and technical themes, particularly an interest in historical precedents and an innovative approach to structure and the use of materials. Every project is run by small, highly motivated teams led by a director or associate. We see design as a critical iterative process subject to continuous development and evaluation. This process is maintained through regular design review involving all members of the office, encouraging objectivity, constructive appraisal and knowledge transfer. The open plan layout of our offices and the non-hierarchical structure of the practice promotes an awareness amongst staff of the development of each project and a shared aspiration to achieve excellence.
