University of Portsmouth

The University of Portsmouth is a public university on the south coast of England, founded in 1869 and based in central Portsmouth, Hampshire. Its Portsmouth School of Architecture teaches architecture, interior architecture and design at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

In the university's own words, it is "breaking boundaries and driving change while honouring our rich heritage", working through partnerships with businesses, industries and governments to open opportunities for students and graduates.

For architecture students, the school is a route through Part 1 and Part 2 study, placement years and the professional qualification pathway. Teaching staff include registered architects who combine academia with experience in practice, among them Principal Lecturer and Academic Lead Martin Andrews.
