Description

About UNStudio is an international architecture and design network founded in 1988 by Ben van Berkel and Caroline Bos. With six offices located in Amsterdam, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Frankfurt, Dubai, and Melbourne, we specialize in architecture, interior architecture, product design, urban development, and infrastructure projects. Our diverse team of over 300 employees from 27 countries allows us to efficiently design and collaborate with clients while dedicating more time to the creative process.

Our mission at UNStudio is to design for lasting impact and address societal challenges such as urbanization, climate change, aging populations, and socioeconomic inequality. By focusing on solutions and driven by purpose, we create value by designing for the implications of these megatrends on the built environment. Our designs aim to enhance the well-being of individuals, minimize environmental impact, and leave a lasting positive effect on cities and their communities.

Vision Future-proofing the future

As the future evolves at an unprecedented pace, we recognize the need to anticipate and adapt to changes. Our strategies not only consider the future but also account for potential shifts in that future. By doing so, we avoid wasteful practices and investments that are no longer sustainable or appropriate. Sustainability, both environmentally and socially, is at the core of our design philosophy, and we strive to make every project financially and socially feasible, achieving what we call 'attainable design'.

At UNStudio, we are committed to creating a greener, healthier, and smarter built environment. We prioritize user-centric designs that are adaptive, resilient, and future-proof. To achieve this, we invest in knowledge and research, exploring new cultural forms, methodologies, materials, and technologies that shape the world. Our UNSx and UNSFutures teams are dedicated to expanding our understanding of architecture and beyond, enabling us to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions.

International Project Experience Collaborating, working, and learning on a global scale

With over 30 years of successful projects across Asia, Europe, and North America, we have gained invaluable practical and theoretical experience. The knowledge acquired from projects in various locations allows us to implement best practices and lessons learned in different contexts. Notable completed projects include the Erasmus Bridge, Arnhem Central Station, the Mercedes-Benz Museum, the Doha Metro Network, Raffles City Hangzhou, and the Hanwha HQ Remodelling. Currently, we are involved in projects such as Southbank by Beulah, Booking.com HQ, wasl Tower, JetBrains' Office Campus, Hardt Hyperloop, and the Brainport Smart District in Helmond.

We have expanded our network to include consultants, partners, and advisors worldwide, enabling us to work efficiently and effectively in any location.
