As the top public relations agency in New York, DKC briefed Sydness Architects to design a headquarters that reflected the vigour and enthusiasm the firm brings to its clients and projects. The scheme joins two floors of a Manhattan office building, with spatial assignments segregated so that adjacencies suit the day-to-day demands of agency life.
Distinct design elements signal different typologies of use and focus, producing a result that reads as varied yet unified. High open ceilings leave the mechanical services exposed and give the open areas an expansive sense of space. Working groups are organised into efficient bench-seating clusters, separated by comfortable lounge settings. Private phone booths and small meeting pods are dispersed throughout, creating intimate locations for more focused conversations away from the larger clusters.
The fit-out spans roughly 1,765 m2 (19,000 ft2) across two levels and was completed in 2019.
