Associate Director – Architect (Advisory Services)
Salary: £75,000 – £85,000
Location: London (Hybrid)
Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced Chartered Architect to join a growing Expert & Advisory Services team, working in a technical advisory and design-led capacity across complex construction and property matters. This role has a strong focus on live projects, technical strategy, and remedial design, offering exposure to a diverse client base and multidisciplinary collaboration.
The Role
The successful candidate will provide high-level technical and strategic advice across residential, commercial and mixed-use developments. The role will also contribute to the expansion of advisory services on live construction projects, including acting as Principal Designer and Contract Administrator where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide architectural and technical advisory services to clients including developers, housing associations, insurers and asset owners
- Undertake detailed technical reviews of design information, site conditions and construction methodologies
- Contribute to remedial and feasibility strategies, including outline design, specifications and drawings for costing purposes
- Support live projects in an advisory, Principal Designer or Contract Administrator capacity
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including fire engineers, façade consultants and cost consultants
- Advise on regulatory compliance including Building Regulations, fire safety and CDM
- Support client engagement and ongoing service development within the advisory function
Requirements
- ARB‑registered and RIBA Chartered Architect
- Minimum 10 years’ post‑qualification experience
- Strong technical knowledge of detailing, construction processes and regulatory frameworks
- Experience across residential, commercial and mixed‑use sectors
- Confident communicator with the ability to explain complex technical matters clearly
- Good working knowledge of consultant appointments, procurement routes and contracts
