Emma Walshaw is the founder of First in Architecture and an architectural technologist by background. After studying architecture and working in and around practice, she moved to running First in Architecture full time, building it from a small student blog into a wide resource platform for architecture students and professionals.
Emma writes construction detailing books and technical guides, publishes a new article each week, and has developed resources covering the design process, building fabric, sustainability and Passivhaus detailing, alongside the Detail Library. Her focus is on making complex construction and design information clear, practical and quick to use.
