This is James’s project proposal for the adaptive reuse of the historic Fruit Exchange building on Victoria Street, Liverpool, transforming it into a 24/7 office complex.
The proposal involved designing a dynamic 24/7 office block based within an existing building in Liverpool, that would promote global collaboration. The space would cater to employees and clients from two partner organisations, John West and Princes Foods, both of which have their main offices in Liverpool. This office block would serve as a temporary workspace and residence, helping to streamline integration and efficiency for individuals working in the city.
The proposed office block would act as a central hub, providing both workspaces and living accommodations for John West and Princes Foods employees and clients. It would feature flexible workspaces with high-speed internet, modern technology, and comfortable furnishings, including private offices and collaborative areas.
International employees would be offered fully furnished apartments along with concierge-style services to assist with logistics and local orientation. The aim is to create a productive, collaborative environment that encourages cross-cultural understanding and strengthens business relationships.
