About the Designer
Pragnya is a recent MArch graduate from the Manchester School of Architecture, where she completed her master's thesis titled “Retrofitted South Manchester” This research explores comprehensive strategies to upgrade South Manchester’s housing stock to EnerPHit standards — promoting energy efficiency, sustainability, and stronger community integration. Her MArch2 thesis model from SKN was recently featured by Revalu as part of “The Material Platform of Tomorrow” titled “Scaling Up Retrofit: A Fabric-First Approach for Community Housing.” recognising her forward-thinking approach to materiality and retrofit design.
With architectural experience combining academic training and professional roles, she brings a solid foundation in design, research, and project delivery. She previously worked as a Junior Architect at leading firms in India, contributing to large-scale residential developments, corporate office interiors and later as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the UK, gaining hands-on experience in feasibility study, concept development, client presentations, tender and construction documentation using AutoCAD and Revit throughout all work stages.
During her time at MSA, Pragnya was an active team player in the Research Methods Workshop, collaborating with CPU-Ai atelier students to study data-driven approaches to smart living. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, she played a key role in organising the BA End of Year Exhibition and supporting first-year studio leadership. Her academic journey has been marked by resilience, leadership, and an excellent work ethic with a passion for inclusive, research-led and detail-oriented design that caters to more-than-humans.
Pragnya is currently preparing to publish her thesis and is seeking a Part II Architectural Assistant position in the UK. She is passionate about socially responsive architecture and looks forward to contributing to projects that prioritise equity, wellbeing, and biodiversity enhancement aiming at UK's 2050 sustainability goals.
