I have been involved in several masterplanning and urban design projects in the UK throughout my career, including the Westbourne Green Neighbourhood masterplan for Westminster City Council, an infill and new development masterplan for and Tower Hamlets, as well as working with Brighton & Hove Local authority on 2 of their aging housing estates. I have also produced a waterside regeneration masterplan in Littlehampton aimed at redefining a previously industrial location into a vibrant new residential quarter.
As well as masterplanning I have led to completion major housing and mixed use schemes in East Sussex. During my seven plus year tenure in my previous position, I led the design and management of construction for several notable projects at stages 1-3,4-5 and to completion. These included a major development of 65 homes in Hove, 30 new build residential units including houses, extension and conversion of two Victorian Villas, requiring special attention to conservation and a sensitive approach to facade detail design. I also obtained planning approval for an 11 story high scheme in Hove after 3 pre-applications, 2 public consultation events and 2 design reviews via panel with Design South East. The scheme was mixed use consisting of 148 apartments, office space and retail. Clients I have managed range from private developers, housing providers, local authorities and NHS resource providers. I am also very versed in producing feasibility proposals and planning applications under very tight deadlines with our assistants.
As my role at progressed, I took on additional responsibilities beyond design and project management. Serving as a Senior/Associate Architect and Lead Designer, I successfully oversaw the entire practice team, managed project resourcing, and planned invoicing in collaboration with a director. Mentoring and fostering professional growth have also been integral parts of my role.
Prior to my last position, I gained valuable experience in hospitality architecture, healthcare, and leisure sectors. During my eight-year employment at Pollard Thomas Edwards in North London, I contributed to the successful delivery of projects in residential, care, education, and urban design/master planning.
