Mohammed Khizr is the founder of Khizr Studio, an architectural film and storytelling studio. A Part II architectural designer who studied at the University of Sheffield, he set up the in-house film unit at Squire & Partners during his time in practice, producing films for competition and tender submissions before founding his own studio.
His focus is using film as a representation and communication tool in architecture: capturing site analysis, expressing materiality, habitation and movement, and conveying the spatial and emotive narratives of a project to audiences who may not read traditional drawings. He also explores film and animation through the RIBA work stages, and is a visiting tutor at the University of Sheffield, teaching storytelling, film and animation.
