About

Neal Shasore is an architectural historian and educator. At the time of his Architecture Social conversation he was Head of School and Chief Executive of the London School of Architecture (LSA), the small independent school in East London that he led from 2021 until he stepped down in early 2025.

He joined the LSA from the RIBA, where he worked in the practice department across its professional programmes and research teams, and he holds a PhD in architectural history. At the LSA he championed "Part 4", a programme of modular, design-led short courses for professionals in architecture and the wider built environment, alongside the school's founding mission to make architecture education more affordable, accessible and diverse. He is a trustee of the Twentieth Century Society and the Architectural Heritage Fund.
