On the 54th floor of a lakefront high-rise in Chicago, this 325 square metre (3,500 sq ft) condominium was completely reworked by Scrafano Architects. The original configuration was dark and maze-like, closed in by heavy mirrors and black marble. The renovation stripped that away, and the apartment now draws spectacular panoramic city and lake views into every room, including the expansive master suite.
The reconfigured residence pairs open, light-filled living and dining areas for family socialising with three lake-facing bedrooms and two bathrooms for visiting adult family. A private master suite sits in its own corner wing, with two large walk-in closets.
